Islamabad: The Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training, Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, has expressed deep concern and regret over the alleged Cambridge exam leak, saying the incident has caused severe mental stress, anxiety and uncertainty for thousands of students and their parents across Pakistan.
The minister described the matter as extremely serious, noting that similar incidents were reported last year and warning that repeated breaches risk eroding public confidence. He urged Cambridge to strengthen its examination system, tighten security protocols and enhance monitoring mechanisms to ensure exams remain tamper-proof and to restore students’ trust.
Acting swiftly, Dr Siddiqui has directed the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) to establish immediate contact with Cambridge authorities to ensure a thorough investigation, clarification of facts and urgent measures to protect students’ interests. The IBCC was tasked to coordinate closely with Cambridge and report back on the steps taken and findings.
The Federal Minister reiterated that the government will not compromise on the educational future of students, transparency of the examination system or protection of merit. He emphasised that all relevant institutions must fulfil their responsibilities with seriousness and accountability so that incidents like the Cambridge exam leak do not undermine the integrity of assessments.
