Sports Board Punjab reviews cricket cup player form and launches plans for a training camp as CM Punjab Youth Games 2026 preparations begin.

A high-level review meeting at Sports Board Punjab assessed the cricket cup performances of players representing the department in the President’s Cricket Cup, with officials focusing on form, fitness and future development. The meeting was chaired by Director General Sports Punjab Muhammad Tariq Qureshi and brought together the relevant officials to review how the players performed in the tournament organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

During the discussion, the players’ technical skills, physical condition, consistency and overall contribution to the side were examined in detail. The review also looked at ways to strengthen their preparation for upcoming domestic and national competitions, with an emphasis on raising standards through structured support and focused training.

Officials said a specialized camp will be arranged in the near future to help talented players improve their game through modern training methods. The planned camp will concentrate on technical development, physical conditioning, match awareness and overall performance enhancement, allowing players to build on their strengths and address areas that need improvement.

It was also agreed that cricketers who show strong and consistent performances will be given opportunities to represent Sports Board Punjab in major events ahead. Speaking at the meeting, Muhammad Tariq Qureshi reiterated the department’s commitment to nurturing young talent and providing athletes with quality training opportunities. He said the focus remains on creating an environment where emerging players can develop their skills and compete with confidence at the next stage of their careers.

He also announced that preparations for the Chief Minister Punjab Youth Games 2026 have begun. The event is expected to become a major platform for identifying new talent from across the province and supporting future national athletes through wide participation and competitive exposure.

According to Sports Punjab officials, the Youth Games will bring together thousands of young athletes from different districts and offer them the chance to compete in multiple sports disciplines. The initiative is aimed at promoting healthy competition, encouraging youth participation and strengthening the province’s sports development framework.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to athlete development, modern coaching and talent identification efforts, as Sports Board Punjab continues its work to support the long-term growth of sports in the province.
