In Islamabad the Pakistan Sports Board has issued orders to release PSB pensions for the month of April, enabling retired employees and their families to observe Eid with relief. The decision follows a series of meetings and administrative steps taken to resolve a delay that had left pensioners waiting.
A representative delegation of pensioners first met former DG/PSB Mr. Yasir Pirzada on 7 May 2026 but the matter remained unresolved. On 11 May 2026 the former DG was returned to his department through a gazette notification and the additional charge of DG/PSB was assigned to the Federal Secretary of the Ministry of IPC.
On 20 May 2026 a delegation of pensioners, including former senatorial officers of the Pakistan Sports Board, met the Federal Secretary acting as DG/PSB and submitted a written request for immediate payment. Officials explained that the April pension had been delayed due to technical reasons, and since taking charge the Federal Secretary and his team had been working to process payments before Eid-ul-Adha. Responsible officials were contacted personally and assurances were given that all possible measures would be taken to disburse the pensions promptly.
Those efforts culminated in orders being issued for the April payments. Pensioners, including widows and orphans, expressed gratitude for the intervention and offered prayers and well wishes for the Federal Secretary, Mohiuddin Wani, for his health and long life. The release of PSB pensions brings immediate relief to many retired employees across the sport board community.
