Punjab Secretary Women Development visits GCWU art exhibition, praising student creativity and digital opportunities for women empowerment.

Punjab Secretary Women Development, Ms. Saman Rai, visited the final arts exhibition organized by the Department of Art & Design at Government College Women University Sialkot, where she viewed a wide collection of student artwork and creative projects.

The exhibition brought together more than 200 artworks, innovative designs and artistic creations developed by 18 students. Visitors and faculty members showed strong appreciation for the originality, technical skill and creative vision reflected in the displayed work.

During her visit, Ms. Rai met students, faculty members and university officials, taking time to examine the projects closely and commend the students for presenting contemporary designs with confidence and imagination. She praised the quality of the work and encouraged young artists to continue refining their skills.

Speaking on the occasion, she said the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, remains committed to women empowerment through education, skill development and entrepreneurship. She noted that practical opportunities and creative platforms are important for helping women build independent and successful careers.

Ms. Rai also urged students to make better use of digital platforms and modern marketing tools to introduce their creative work to wider audiences. She said young designers can turn artistic talent into professional success by learning how to reach local and international markets through online channels.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shazia Bashir welcomed the guest and thanked her for visiting the exhibition. She highlighted the university’s efforts to provide quality education, practical exposure and opportunities for students to present their talent on professional platforms.

Both Ms. Saman Rai and Prof. Dr. Shazia Bashir stressed the role of art, design and innovation in advancing women empowerment and creating new avenues for professional growth. Faculty members were also appreciated for guiding students and helping them develop their creative potential.

The exhibition was attended by students, faculty and guests, who praised the variety and quality of the projects on display. The event reflected growing support for creative excellence and reinforced the importance of providing young women with opportunities to succeed in the arts and beyond.
