Chairman Senate of Pakistan Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani received the Annual Report of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue for the period March 2025 to March 2026 from Committee Chairman Senator Saleem Mandviwalla in Islamabad.
The report reflects the committee’s work on legislative, oversight and policy matters aimed at strengthening fiscal transparency, financial accountability and effective governance. It also highlights the committee’s review of issues linked to the national economy and revenue generation, areas seen as vital for public confidence and institutional performance.
Speaking on the occasion, Gilani said parliamentary oversight plays a central role in reinforcing democratic institutions and improving transparency in public affairs. He praised the committee for taking a proactive approach in examining financial and revenue-related matters and noted its contribution to better governance.
The Senate chairman also appreciated Senator Saleem Mandviwalla and the committee members for their dedication and hard work, saying effective parliamentary committees are essential to protecting public interest and supporting stronger institutional performance.
Reaffirming the Upper House’s commitment to democratic values, Gilani said the Senate will continue to back accountability, robust parliamentary processes and governance reforms that support sustainable economic development in Pakistan.
