ISLAMABAD: The historical relations between Iran and Pakistan have withstood the test of time, rooted in centuries of shared history, civilisation, faith and culture, according to a tribute to bilateral ties that says the bond between the two countries remains strong and enduring.
The text recalled that Iran was the first country to recognise Pakistan, while Pakistan was the first country to recognise the Islamic Republic of Iran. It described these milestones as reflecting the exceptional nature of relations that have now entered a new and unique era.
It said the strengthening and consolidation of ties, particularly over the past two years, was evident, adding that representatives of the parliaments of Iran and Pakistan, as the voices of their respective nations, had consistently stood together in support and solidarity with each other.
Referring to recent expressions of support, the text said that on the first day of the aggression of the Israeli regime, representatives of the Pakistani parliament issued a resolution in support of Iran. It added that, in the presence of the President, members of the Iranian Parliament chanted “Pakistan Tashakur,” while the people of Iran echoed the same sentiment in the streets, waving the flags of Iran and Pakistan side by side.
The text also noted that in his first Nowruz message, the new Supreme Leader of Iran referred to the importance of Iran’s relations with Pakistan, underscoring the significance of the enduring partnership.
It highlighted numerous exchanges of high-level visits over the past two years, including President Masoud Pezeshkian’s two visits to Pakistan, several visits by the Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan to Iran, multiple visits by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir (NI(M), HJ, COAS & CDF), and other exchanges between senior officials.
These visits, it said, demonstrated the depth of friendship, brotherhood, solidarity and mutual support between the two countries at every level.
In June 2026, President Pezeshkian paid what was described as a memorable visit to Islamabad to convey the heartfelt gratitude of the Government and people of Iran to the Government and people of Pakistan.
Likewise, the Pakistani delegation that participated in the ceremony to pay tribute to the Martyred Supreme Leader of Iran attended at the highest level, with the largest-ever delegation of senior dignitaries, which the text described as a powerful symbol of solidarity and mutual respect.
It said that, by the grace of Almighty Allah, the brotherly relations between Iran and Pakistan had reached a level where no challenge, phenomenon or external factor could weaken the love, friendship and brotherhood between the two nations.
“The stature and reputation of the relations stand as high as the majestic peaks of Damavand and K2,” the text said.
It further stated that friendship and brotherhood between Iran and Pakistan could serve as a role model for the region, based on mutual respect, sincere brotherhood, good neighbourliness and the spirit of “We Can Do It”.
The message concluded with a prayer for the day when all Muslim and neighbouring countries of the region would work together, hand in hand, in an atmosphere of peace, stability and security, free from external threats and destructive wars, to build a future of development, prosperity and lasting welfare for their peoples.
