LAHORE: Renowned Pakistani film producer and actor Samad Aariz, in his message on the occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, has said that the day is a time to express heartfelt gratitude for freedom and the countless blessings bestowed upon the nation.
Speaking to a cultural reporter, Samad Aariz urged the people to celebrate Independence Day with a renewed commitment to the country’s progress and prosperity.
He said the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Army. He also praised Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for his special efforts in highlighting Pakistan’s unique importance and stature on the global stage, adding that the nation feels proud of these achievements.
Samad Aariz stressed the need to renew the pledge that Pakistan would be made better and stronger in the coming years. He said every Pakistani should be ready to make even the greatest sacrifice for the development, prosperity and stability of the country.
He said Pakistanis are fortunate to have been born in a free country where they can live according to their own choices. “We will always remain united in our love for the green and white flag,” he said.
The actor and producer said Independence Day holds great significance in the lives of Pakistanis as it reminds them that they are a free nation. “If someone wants to understand the true value and meaning of freedom, they should look at nations living under oppression and see the hardships they face, the disrespect they suffer and the fact that their voices are not heard,” he said.
Samad Aariz acknowledged that Pakistanis are also facing many challenges today, but expressed gratitude to Allah that the country is free and its people have the right to express themselves.
“We are proud that this country belongs to us and that we are its custodians. When we see its streets and roads, we feel that they are ours. This sense of belonging strengthens a person’s dignity, confidence and connection with the country,” he concluded.
