TEHRAN: Iran has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a mosque near a police centre in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during Friday prayers, which left dozens of people dead and injured.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei expressed condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of neighbouring Pakistan.

Reiterating the Islamic Republic of Iran’s principled stance against all forms of terrorism and violent extremism, Baghaei said attacks targeting civilians and security personnel had absolutely no justification.

He also stressed the need for strengthening cooperation and coordination among regional countries to effectively and consistently combat terrorism.
