Islamabad Marina City, Pakistan Workers Cooperative Housing Society, and Seven Enclave Housing Society Face Strict RDA Action

Rawalpindi : Rawalpindi Development Authority’s (RDA) Enforcement Team has initiated action against three illegal housing schemes, including Islamabad Marina City, Pakistan Workers Cooperative Housing Society, and Seven Enclave Housing Society.

These housing schemes are all located in Rawalpindi. The team demolished the site offices, major gates, and road infrastructure of these housing schemes that were located in Mouza Garbal, Mouza Mohri Khatran, and Fateh Jang Road in accordance with the directions given by Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, who serves as the Director General of the RDA.

According to a statement made by an RDA spokesperson, the Enforcement Squad has been acting in a decisive manner toward unauthorized housing developments. In accordance with sections 39, 12(5) of the PDC Act 1976, and section 38 of the Punjab Development Authority Private Housing Schemes Rules 2021, notices were delivered to the proprietors of the three housing schemes.

The operation that was carried out against the three illegal housing schemes was carried out by the Enforcement Squad. Those involved in the operation included the Incharge/Assistant Director Building Control, the Deputy Incharge, and the Superintendent Scheme. In violation of the rules, the proprietors of these buildings operated booking offices in the same building.

RDA Takes Action Against 5 Illegal Housing Schemes

The spokeswoman for RDA encouraged members of the public not to put their money into any illegal housing enterprise. Through the RDA website, one is able to monitor the current status of illegal housing developments that have been declared by the RDA.

The Director General of the Real Estate Regulatory and Development Authority (DG RDA) has also given instructions to the MP&TE Directorate to take stringent action against illegal housing schemes, their development, the construction of booking and site offices, and encroachments.

The RDA has sent a request to the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL), and the Pakistan Telecommunications Company (PTCL) to refrain from providing their services to illegal housing developments due to the plans’ unapproved and illegal status.
