PHEC Holds 41st Commission Meeting in Lahore

The Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) held its 41st Commission meeting at Arfa Software Technology Park in Lahore, bringing together senior academics and government officials to discuss key issues in the province’s higher education sector. The session, chaired by Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan, underscored the commission’s commitment to advancing academic standards and strengthening partnerships among educational stakeholders.

Among the notable attendees were Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali, who serves as Chairperson of the Accreditation Committee, and Prof. Dr. Khalid Masud Gondal, Vice Chancellor of Fatima Jinnah Medical University Lahore. Also present were Ms. Zahida Azher, Additional Secretary of the Higher Education Department (HED); representatives from the Secretaries of Specialized Health, Finance, and Agriculture Departments; Dr. Muhammad Arshad, Chairman of the Board of Governors at Multan University of Science & Technology; Prof. Dr. Nighat Zafar, Principal of Government Graduate College for Women in Gulberg, Lahore; and Dr. Mansoor Ahmad Baluch, Chief Operating Officer of PHEC.

The meeting focused on collaborative strategies to enhance the quality and accessibility of higher education throughout Punjab. Participants reviewed ongoing and future initiatives, discussed policy frameworks for accreditation and funding, and shared insights to address challenges facing academic institutions across the province.

The PHEC reiterated its dedication to fostering excellence in teaching, research, and institutional governance, ensuring that Punjab’s higher education sector continues to align with global standards and the region’s developmental needs.
