Algeria will host the 57th edition of the Algiers International Fair from June 22 to 27, 2026, under the high patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, with the Kingdom of Spain as guest of honor. The event is one of the largest economic exhibitions in Africa and the Arab world and offers a platform to deepen commercial links between Algeria and Pakistan.
The 2025 edition saw exceptional turnout with 684 participating companies, including 145 foreign firms from 31 countries, underlining the fair’s regional significance. For Pakistani businesses, the Algiers International Fair has become an increasingly important venue to showcase products and explore new partnerships.
The Algerian Embassy in Islamabad has invited Pakistan’s Ministry of Commerce, the Special Investment Facilitation Council, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, all chambers of commerce and industry, and the Karachi Association of Industry Pakistan-SITE to join the delegation, as many did in previous editions. Pakistani firm participation jumped from 12 in 2022 to more than 170 in 2024, reflecting growing market interest.
Bilateral trade between Algeria and Pakistan recently stood at roughly $43.93 million. Data for 2024 shows Pakistan exporting about $22.6 million to Algeria, including construction vehicles and sports gear, while Algeria exported around $21 million, largely calcium phosphates. Officials and industry representatives are targeting expansion in energy, mining, agriculture, textiles, information technology and the blue economy.
Commercial ties have been further institutionalized since the establishment of a Joint Business Council in 2022 between the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
