Autism Centre Location Finalised by Deputy PM

Deputy PM finalises site for Autism Centre and urges expedited planning to secure trained professionals, specialised design and international best practices.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the Advisory Board for the Centre of Excellence for Autism Spectrum Disorder to review progress and confirm the finalisation of the Autism Centre location.

Mr Dar expressed satisfaction with the decision on the site and directed that planning and development be expedited. He stressed the need for quality service delivery at the Autism Centre, highlighting the importance of trained professionals, specialised architecture and the adoption of international best practices to deliver world-class education, therapeutic services and research for Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The meeting brought together SAPM Tariq Bajwa, the Secretary Education, the Secretary Health, the Special Secretary Finance, senior officials from concerned ministries and other experts in the field, including Ms Ayesha Haroon, Ms Aasma Tariq and Ms Haleema Sadia, to coordinate next steps and implementation priorities for the Centre.
