Capital Hospital Nurses Celebrate Nurses Day

Capital Hospital nurses urged urgent recruitment as CDA Hospital marks International Nurses Day; leaders appeal to CDA and Mohsin Naqvi for immediate action.

Today the CDA Hospital in Islamabad observed International Nurses Day with the theme Benyan al-Marsous, opening the program with a recitation of the Holy Quran. The occasion brought staff, nursing leaders and education heads together to honour the role of nurses in patient care.

Dr Naeem Taj, Executive Director of Capital Hospital, was among senior attendees. Also present were Chief Nursing Superintendent Sameena Ilyas Raja, General Secretary of the CDA Officers Association Chaudhry Kamran Baht, Chairman Riaz Khan, General Secretary Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen, General Secretary of the Pakistan Nursing Federation Shabbir Tanoli and General Secretary of the Worker Federation Asad Mahmood, together with principals from various nursing colleges.

The program celebrated the dedication of Capital Hospital nurses and recognised their daily contributions to patient safety and care. Speakers praised nursing services and emphasised the profession’s critical role within the hospital system.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Naeem Taj highlighted a severe shortage of nurses at the hospital and made a direct appeal to the CDA chairman to initiate emergency recruitment measures. He urged expedited action to fill vacancies so that patient care standards are maintained.

All speakers requested that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and CDA leadership take an active role in resolving the staffing gap. The event concluded with renewed calls for coordinated recruitment and support for nursing education to strengthen the hospital workforce.
