The Director General (China) at Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Tariq Wazir, visited China Window in Peshawar and praised the centre’s role in deepening people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China. During his tour he viewed galleries showcasing Chinese history, culture, technological advances, tourism and education, noting how the exhibits present both China’s rich civilisation and modern achievements to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Mr Wazir signed the Friendship Wall and left remarks in the Visitors’ Book, commending the vision and dedication behind the cultural centre. He expressed that a platform like China Window was much needed in Peshawar and said its establishment has filled an important gap in cultural diplomacy and mutual understanding between the two countries.
“I would like to commend the organizers and everyone associated with this remarkable initiative. What has been achieved here is truly impressive,” he said, adding his confidence that China Window will become even more significant in the years ahead. He urged expansion of the centre’s activities so more people can benefit from learning about China and the longstanding Pakistan China friendship.
The Director General emphasised that cultural exchanges and people-to-people connections remain the cornerstone of Pakistan-China relations and assured the centre of support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “I assure you, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Pakistan, that such collaborations are essential,” he stated, underlining the Ministry’s readiness to promote collaborative initiatives that bring both societies closer together.
The visit concluded with an interactive session in which Mr Wazir praised the efforts of China Window’s administration, staff and volunteers for their dedication to fostering cultural understanding. The centre continues to host seminars, exhibitions, language promotion programmes and educational activities that attract diplomats, academics, students, media professionals and civil society, reinforcing its role as a vibrant platform for Pakistan China friendship.
Local stakeholders say the presence of China Window in Peshawar strengthens regional cultural diplomacy and provides accessible opportunities for engagement with China’s culture and modern development. With MOFA support and active programming, China Window is positioned to play a pivotal role in expanding cultural and educational ties between the two countries.
