Islamabad: The Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Programme has crossed a major milestone, with more than one million citizens registering for the Fuel Relief Scheme within the first three days.
The Pakistan Digital Authority (PDA), in collaboration with the Ministry of IT and Telecom, has enabled the nationwide digital delivery of the programme under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of providing relief to citizens amid rising global fuel prices.
According to the details, PDA developed the end-to-end digital solution for the smooth management and rollout of the fuel relief scheme across the country.
The digital infrastructure covers CNIC-linked registration, eligibility verification, fuel-token generation, redemption at participating fuel stations and overall relief scheme management.
The programme has been built in close collaboration with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), Petroleum Division and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), alongside provincial and local administrations.
Officials said the milestone shows the capacity of digital public infrastructure to support rapid national-level delivery of government programmes. The system brings several government functions together around a single objective: delivering relief to eligible citizens in a transparent and effective manner.
