Islamabad, May 9, 2026 — On the successful conclusion of the four-day 6th International Students Convention, the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission and Patron-in-Chief, Dr Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, conveyed appreciation to organizers, host universities and student participants for turning the event into a milestone of academic diplomacy and youth engagement.
Dr Akhtar extended his heartfelt congratulations to all involved and specifically lauded the leadership of Mr Muhammad Murtaza Noor, CEO and founder of the International Students Convention, noting that his dedication has transformed the platform into a significant national and international forum for student collaboration and innovation.
The Chairman praised the cooperation of the host and partner universities and reaffirmed HEC’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote quality higher education, student empowerment and national development. He said the Commission remains proud to be a partner in efforts that advance the internationalisation of Pakistani higher education.
The 6th International Students Convention was jointly hosted by Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, Riphah International University, PAF-IAST Haripur and FAST University Islamabad. Over four days the programme featured more than 34 competitions alongside an innovation and education expo, symposia, cultural showcases and leadership workshops, drawing participants from more than 25 countries.
The Management of the International Students Convention and Expo expressed profound gratitude to the Chairman HEC for his guidance and support. On behalf of the entire management team a spokesperson thanked Dr Akhtar, saying his leadership has been instrumental in elevating the convention into a globally recognised platform and continues to inspire efforts to internationalise higher education in Pakistan.
Organisers and participants said the event showcased student talent, fostered cross-border academic ties and reinforced the role of such gatherings in promoting research, entrepreneurship and cultural exchange across Pakistani universities and beyond.
