Independence Day ceremony held at Rawalpindi Cantonment Board

Participants attended the Independence Day ceremony at Rawalpindi Cantonment Board under the chairmanship of Zahid Bakhtawari.

RAWALPINDI: A dignified Independence Day ceremony was held at the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board on August 14 under the chairmanship of Zahid Bakhtawari, Vice President of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board.

Zahid Bakhtawari, along with the participants, hoisted the national flag and cut the Independence Day cake. Additional CEO Zia Hussain, Assistant Secretary Rawalpindi Cantonment Board Imran Habib, distinguished guests and staff of the institution were also present on the occasion.

The participants saluted the national flag and offered prayers for the security, development, stability and prosperity of Pakistan. They also expressed their commitment to national unity and love for the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Zahid Bakhtawari said Independence Day provided an opportunity to remember the sacrifices of elders and renew the commitment to the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.

He said citizens must collectively play their role for the country’s development, peace and stability.

Slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pakistan Armed Forces Zindabad” were raised during the ceremony.

Expressing solidarity with the Pakistan Armed Forces, Zahid Bakhtawari said Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir had strengthened Pakistan’s defence, adding that the entire nation was proud of him.

He said the Pakistan Armed Forces had rendered invaluable sacrifices and laid down precious lives in defence of the country. “Our martyrs and veterans are the pride of the nation,” he added.

The ceremony concluded with a collective prayer for the security, peace, stability and prosperity of Pakistan and the nation.
