Approximately 300 cyclists from across the city took part in the event, which featured competitive categories across age groups including Open Men, Open Women, Senior Men, Senior Women, Under-16 and Under-9. The championship followed an established Standard Operating Procedure to ensure safe and inclusive participation for all riders.

Prominent officials attended and participated in the activities, with Member Finance CDA Tahir Naeem, the District Magistrate Islamabad, the Director Sports, the DSP Traffic Police and the President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce among those present. Members of the national women’s cricket team and other senior officials also joined the event and rode alongside city residents.

Citizens and cycling enthusiasts praised the initiative and encouraged the CDA and MCI to make such healthy public events regular fixtures in Islamabad’s calendar. Many attendees highlighted the role of the Cycling Championship in encouraging active lifestyles while reducing reliance on motor vehicles.

Dr. Anam Fatima, City Officer MCI, said the event demonstrates the authorities’ commitment to raising awareness about green mobility in urban areas and reaffirmed that MCI and CDA will continue to organize similar activities to promote health and public participation in the Federal Capital.
