Islamabad Traffic Police has decided to deploy drone technology to improve traffic management and enforcement within the city. This initiative, aimed at ensuring strict compliance with traffic laws and immediate identification of violations, will initially start with drone deployment on major roads and then gradually extend throughout the city.

This innovative measure has been introduced under the vision and special directives of Inspector General of Police, Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The primary objective of introducing drone cameras is to maintain efficient traffic flow and instantly detect any form of traffic rule violation, enabling quicker response and action by authorities.

Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad, Captain (Retired) Syed Zeeshan Haider, announced that, in the initial phase, these drone cameras will be utilized along busy arteries such as Islamabad Expressway and Srinagar Highway. Once successfully implemented on these routes, the initiative will expand in the next phase to cover all sectors and other important roads across Islamabad.

Addressing the benefits and practicality of drone technology, CTO Zeeshan Haider emphasized that drones will significantly enhance the traffic police’s capability to swiftly identify violations and implement immediate corrective action. Moreover, drone cameras will facilitate the identification of congested spots, allowing specialized response teams to promptly address the situation and restore smooth traffic flow.

This strategic incorporation of modern drone technology represents Islamabad Traffic Police’s ongoing commitment to ensuring road safety, maintaining discipline, and improving the daily commuting experience of the citizens.
