A Kenyan delegation held constructive talks with Pakistani officials in Islamabad as both sides prepared for the second session of the Joint Trade Committee. The meeting brought together Mr. Robert Ng’ong’a, Head of Bilateral at the International Trade Directorate, Mr. Boru D. Roba of the Asia Division and Ms. Fatuma Bonaya from Kenya’s State Department of Trade, alongside counterparts from Pakistan’s Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry.
Participants discussed the JTC agenda in detail, focusing on items to be taken up during the 19-20 May 2026 session. Attention was given to the current status of pending memoranda of understanding between state agencies of the two countries, with both sides identifying outstanding issues to be resolved before the plenary meeting.
Pakistan’s High Commission assured the visiting delegation of visa facilitation to ensure a smooth arrival and stay for delegates attending the Joint Trade Committee. The assurance of logistical support was welcomed as a practical step to foster timely participation and efficient preparations for the Islamabad session.
Officials exchanged courteous remarks and extended best wishes for the upcoming JTC meeting, expressing optimism that the session will strengthen bilateral trade cooperation and help advance the agreed action points between the two governments.
