L'Oréal Pakistan advances SLES localization by qualifying Tufail Chemical as a local SLES supplier to cut imports and boost supply chain resilience.

L’Oréal Pakistan has qualified Tufail Chemical Industries Ltd. as a local supplier of Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES), marking a major step in the company’s SLES localization efforts and reducing reliance on imported raw materials.

The qualification followed a rigorous global assessment that confirmed Tufail Chemical meets L’Oréal’s exacting quality and compliance standards, underscoring the technical capability of Pakistani manufacturers to deliver beauty-tech ingredients at international benchmarks.

By sourcing SLES locally, L’Oréal Pakistan expects to shorten logistics chains, lower transport-related emissions and improve lead times, strengthening supply chain agility and supporting sustained industrial growth across the country.

Rehan Saeed, Executive General Manager at L’Oréal Pakistan, said “For us, localization is a strategic enabler for future growth. By developing local supplier capability to global standards, we are not only strengthening our own supply chain resilience and agility but also contributing to the broader development of the Pakistani manufacturing ecosystem.”

The onboarding of Tufail Chemical is positioned as a blueprint for further raw material localization, combining sustainability goals with a long-term investment mindset that aims to accelerate manufacturing capacity and economic opportunity within Pakistan while keeping quality at the core.
