A dignified cultural ceremony at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts on 6 May 2026 marked the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq 2025, bringing together singers, musicians, artists and dancers to pay tribute to the nation’s heroes. The event presented a blend of mili naghmas, regional songs and musical pieces that highlighted Pakistan’s cultural diversity.
Performers rendered songs in Sindhi, Balochi, Pashto and Punjabi while instrumental segments, including guitar performances, rounded out the evening. The cultural programme was designed to honour ghazis, martyrs and veterans and to reflect the resilience celebrated during Marka-e-Haq.
A wide cross-section of the public attended the commemoration, including specially invited Chinese guests, women lawyers, government officials, students and members of civil society, many of whom observed the performances in traditional attire. The turnout underscored the event’s local and diplomatic resonance.
Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division Aurangzeb Khan Khichi attended as chief guest and paid tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces, martyrs and veterans. In his remarks he described the events of 6 and 7 May as a defining chapter in national history, condemning attacks on civilians and places of worship as violations of international law and human values.
The minister said Pakistan’s response during Marka-e-Haq was decisive and reaffirmed that the country would not compromise on sovereignty or security. He praised the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for guiding the nation and lauded Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir for strategic vision and firm leadership, noting that the armed forces had bolstered public confidence and national stability.
Khichi also highlighted his ministry’s role in promoting the country’s cultural heritage while honouring national heroes, and commended PNCA and partner institutions for organising the commemoration. He closed by urging unity in support of Pakistan’s security, development and prosperity and by reaffirming the nation’s commitment to remembering the sacrifices of its heroes.
