RAWALPINDI: Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR), through its University Institute of Information Technology (UIIT), organised a faculty development training programme titled “Artificial Intelligence for Everyone” from July 13 to 24, 2026, to enhance the digital competencies of teachers and familiarise them with modern Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for teaching, research and academic productivity.
Vice Chancellor PMAS-AAUR Prof Dr Qamar-uz-Zaman graced the closing ceremony as chief guest. A total of 45 faculty members from various academic departments successfully completed the training programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Qamar-uz-Zaman said Artificial Intelligence had become an integral part of the modern digital landscape and was transforming education, research, industry and public services across the globe.
He said universities must prepare their faculty and students to effectively utilise AI technologies in order to remain competitive in an increasingly technology-driven world. He added that when faculty members were equipped with modern AI tools, they could deliver more engaging and effective learning experiences while guiding students to use these technologies responsibly and ethically.
Director, University Institute of Information Technology, Prof Dr Yaser Hafeez, thanked the vice chancellor, trainers and participants for making the programme a success.
He said the training demonstrated how AI tools could be integrated into higher education while maintaining academic integrity. He added that UIIT would continue organising similar capacity-building programmes for faculty members and students to strengthen digital skills and promote the effective use of emerging technologies across the university.
At the end, shields and certificates were distributed among the trainers and participants.
