PRA Pakistan has formed a five-member election committee to oversee its upcoming organizational elections. The committee will include Tariq Mehmood Sameer, Ejaz Ahmed, and Nasir Naqvi, along with National Assembly Director General Media Zafar Sultan Khan and Senate Director Media Asad Marwat.
The decision was made during the final meeting of the current PRA Pakistan governing body, held under the chairmanship of President Usman Khan at the PRA Pakistan office in Parliament House. Secretary Naveed Akbar presented the agenda and the names for the new election committee, which received formal approval from the attendees.
The meeting also finalized and approved the list of members eligible to vote in the election, specifically those who have paid their annual fees by the deadline. It was agreed that the current governing body will complete its term and dissolve on September 8, at which point all responsibilities will be handed over to the election committee. Furthermore, the election committee will not have the authority to alter any decisions made during this session, and only members who have paid their fees on time will be eligible to participate in voting or contest in the elections.
President Usman Khan expressed gratitude to the office bearers for their exceptional cooperation and noted with satisfaction the significant progress made during the two-year tenure of the outgoing body. He thanked all those who supported the organization’s growth and highlighted the steps taken to facilitate PRA members.
Secretary Naveed Akbar provided a detailed overview of the outgoing body’s achievements, expressing overall satisfaction with its performance. It was also decided that following the elections, PRA will grant an honorarium to National Assembly and Senate employees Muhammad Farhan and Waheed in recognition of their service.
The meeting included a vote of appreciation for the media teams from the National Assembly and Senate, as well as for key individuals such as the media adviser to the Senate chairman, Mian Khurram Rasool, for their consistent support.
At the conclusion of the session, commemorative photo souvenirs were presented to the outgoing officials in recognition of their contributions.
