On April 16, 2026 a District Coordination Committee meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Rawalpindi, presided over by Member of the National Assembly Ms. Tahira Aurangzeb alongside Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Danyal Chaudhry. The session drew members of the National and Provincial Assemblies from Rawalpindi and officials from various departments, with representatives providing detailed briefings on the status of ongoing projects.
Barrister Danyal Chaudhry emphasized that Rawalpindi development projects must be completed within their stipulated timelines and that there should be no compromise on quality. He praised the development momentum being driven under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and said focused measures are underway to strengthen education, health, sanitation and other essential services across the district.
Among the initiatives highlighted were the establishment of new educational and health centres, construction of hospitals, upgradation of schools and the provision of school buses for students with special needs. Barrister Danyal directed department heads to address public grievances promptly and to ensure delivery of basic amenities at the grassroots level, stressing that tangible benefits must reach citizens without delay.
The parliamentary secretary reiterated the government’s commitment to mobilize all available resources for the development of Rawalpindi district and the welfare of its residents. He called for close coordination among provincial and district offices, stronger monitoring of project timelines and strict adherence to quality standards so that Rawalpindi development delivers lasting improvements in public services.
Officials present were instructed to maintain regular progress updates and to work collaboratively with elected representatives to resolve bottlenecks quickly, ensuring that projects move forward on schedule and meet the needs of local communities.
