Rawalpindi police have arrested three central suspects in a hair cutting case after a video showing the incident went viral and the victim recorded a statement. The case was registered at Nasirabad police station on the basis of the victim’s video testimony, though the incident itself took place nearly a month earlier and had not been reported to authorities at the time.
The main accused, identified as the person who cut the woman’s hair, was detained along with two accomplices, one male and one female. Following the video’s circulation the suspects fled, but Rawalpindi police say they traced and apprehended the trio by employing both technical and human intelligence techniques.
Syed Khalid Hamdani, the City Police Officer, stated that investigators used all available resources to locate the suspects and that further arrests of other associates and facilitators are expected as the inquiry continues. The registered complaint at Nasirabad was initiated after the victim’s video statement made the matter public and prompted immediate police action.
The CPO stressed there is no tolerance for violence, assault or harassment against women and warned that those involved will not escape the grip of the law. A Rawalpindi police spokesperson reiterated that no citizen will face cruelty without legal consequences as the investigation proceeds.
