CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani led open courts at Waris Khan and Bani police stations to hear public complaints and streamline service delivery. Senior officers including the SSP Operations, SP Rawal, SDPO Waris Khan, station house officers and investigating teams attended as large numbers of citizens, civil society representatives, the peace committee and traders participated to raise local concerns.
During the open court sessions the CPO instructed immediate registration of a case following a woman’s complaint and directed traffic authorities to strengthen deployment on crowded arteries in Waris Khan circle. The CPO emphasised that Rawalpindi Police will ensure uninterrupted traffic flow, citizen convenience and prompt resolution of grievances while upholding merit and the rule of law.
In Rawat’s Baga Sheikhan area a motorcycle-borne group opened fire on a police party at night. One wanted accused identified as Taimoor, who had records in murder, attempted murder and illegal arms cases and was wanted in multiple cases, was killed during the exchange while his accomplices fled. A police vehicle and Constable Ehtisham were struck by bullets, with the constable protected by a bulletproof vest. Senior officers reached the scene and searches are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
Vestrige police conducted an operation that led to the arrest of a two-member gang involved in robbery and theft. Recovered evidence included a snatched motorcycle, two mobile phones, stolen cash of Rs3,500 and a firearm. Officers said the detainees will be presented before court with solid evidence.
Chaklala police arrested a wanted man accused of a June 2022 murder after using technical and human intelligence. Authorities noted the suspect’s accomplice had been arrested earlier and that the case will be pursued with the available evidence in court, according to SP Potohar Talha Wali.
Kahuta police arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a six-year-old boy. Police registered the case promptly and completed the medical process for the victim. The SP said the accused will be brought to trial with decisive evidence to secure just punishment.
Further operations across the district resulted in five people taken into custody and the seizure of five liters and two bottles of liquor along with a weapon and ammunition in areas including City Police Station, Saddar Beroni, Chaklala, Saddar Wah and Jatli. Divisional SPs reiterated that those involved in narcotics or possession of illegal weapons will not evade the law.
