ISLAMABAD: Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) hosted the Study in Malaysia Education Fair 2026 in Islamabad on September 15 and 16, attracting hundreds of students, parents, education professionals and representatives of academic institutions.
The fair provided Pakistani students an opportunity to interact directly with representatives of leading Malaysian universities and explore undergraduate, postgraduate and professional study programmes.
Participating institutions shared information on internationally recognised degree programmes, scholarships, admission requirements, student visas, campus facilities, accommodation and student life in Malaysia. University representatives also held one-on-one counselling sessions with students and parents to help them understand the process of pursuing higher education in Malaysia.
The event was inaugurated by the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, H.E. Dato Muhammad Azhar Mazlan, who highlighted the longstanding and friendly relations between Malaysia and Pakistan. He emphasised the role of education in strengthening bilateral ties and expressed confidence that initiatives such as the Study in Malaysia Education Fair would contribute to greater cooperation in education, research, innovation and people-to-people exchanges.
Throughout the event, students showed keen interest in Malaysian higher education opportunities, with many holding detailed discussions with university representatives on admissions, scholarships and future career pathways. A number of students also moved forward with their admission processes during the fair.
Speaking on the occasion, EMGS representatives said Pakistan remained an important and growing market for Malaysian higher education. They said increasing numbers of Pakistani students were exploring Malaysia as a destination for quality international education, particularly for undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes.
They noted that Malaysia offered international students a multicultural and welcoming environment, internationally oriented academic programmes and opportunities to develop skills relevant to the global job market.
The Study in Malaysia Education Fair 2026 is part of EMGS’s wider international outreach programme aimed at promoting Malaysia as a preferred destination for international students and strengthening engagement with key education markets.
The Islamabad edition followed the fair’s outreach in Karachi and forms part of a three-city programme designed to connect Malaysian universities with students and families across Pakistan.
Following Islamabad, the national education outreach will continue in Lahore on September 19 and 20, bringing the Study in Malaysia Education Fair 2026 to the final city of its Pakistan programme.
The Islamabad event concluded on a positive note, with students, parents and education professionals welcoming the opportunity to receive direct information from Malaysian universities and explore pathways for higher education abroad.
The continued engagement between EMGS, Malaysian universities and Pakistani students reflects the growing potential for stronger Malaysia-Pakistan educational cooperation and deeper people-to-people connections between the two countries.
