UNICEF Supports Balochistan’s Polio Campaign for Children

UNICEF Representative in Pakistan, Pernille Ironside, visited Balochistan to strengthen UNICEF’s partnership with the provincial government in supporting children’s rights and welfare. During her meeting with Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, Ironside reaffirmed UNICEF’s dedication to improving the lives of children across the region.

Her visit also included field activities in Quetta, where she joined health workers conducting an ongoing polio vaccination campaign. Ironside personally administered vaccines to children under five, underscoring the importance of protecting every child from the threat of polio and highlighting UNICEF’s ongoing efforts in the fight against this preventable disease.

The visit reflects the continued collaboration between UNICEF, the Government of Balochistan, and health organizations such as the Pakistan Polio Eradication Initiative, as they work together to ensure a healthier and safer future for children in the province.
