Muhammad Zohaib Khan, a prominent IT industry leader and former chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), has been elected vice chairman of the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO), an IT industry alliance of 26 countries.
The election marks a landmark achievement for Pakistan’s technology sector, making Khan the first Pakistani to hold the position of vice chairman and board member in ASOCIO’s more than 25-year history of engagement with the country.
A Pride of Pakistan awardee, Khan’s election reflects the growing prominence, innovation and global competitiveness of Pakistan’s digital ecosystem.
ASOCIO is a leading regional ICT federation that brings together national technology associations from around 26 economies across Asia and Oceania. The organisation was established to promote cross-border collaboration, digital policy dialogue and industry development, and serves as an important bridge for technology markets across the Asia-Pacific region.
Commenting on his appointment, Khan said it was a proud moment for Pakistan and its IT industry. He said ASOCIO brings together 26 economies across the Asia-Pacific and provides an important platform for regional technology collaboration.
“My focus will be on strengthening Pakistan’s presence within this ecosystem, building international partnerships, and creating greater opportunities for Pakistani IT companies and professionals across global markets,” he said.
Khan has played an active role in Pakistan’s technology landscape and previously led P@SHA through a period of transformative growth. His leadership is expected to further accelerate Pakistan’s software export growth, facilitate international joint ventures and enhance the country’s standing as an emerging regional technology hub.
