A ceremony at the Embassy of Pakistan in Moscow observed Kashmir Solidarity Day, bringing together members of the Pakistani diaspora, the business community and media representatives to express support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Messages from the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out to attendees, reinforcing diplomatic solidarity and the humanitarian concerns that underpin Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue.
H. E. Mr. Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Ambassador of Pakistan to the Russian Federation, told the gathering that the situation in IIOJK remains the oldest unresolved dispute on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council. He warned that the dispute is an obstacle to broader regional integration, including the realization of President Putin’s vision for the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), and said that a settlement would bring benefits across the region.
The ceremony concluded with a documentary screening and a photo exhibition depicting alleged atrocities by Indian forces in IIOJK, underlining the humanitarian focus of the Kashmir Solidarity event and the mission’s message of continued support for the people affected by the dispute.
