In Tirana on 7 June 2026, Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha and Tahseen Sayed, Albania’s Honorary Consul in Pakistan, discussed concrete steps to deepen Albania Pakistan ties, prioritising trade, tourism and official training opportunities.
Minister Hoxha conveyed Albania’s strong interest in expanding bilateral relations with Pakistan, particularly in broadening trade links, promoting tourism and arranging training for Albanian officials in Pakistan’s higher administrative institutions. Both sides agreed to begin consultations between senior foreign ministry officials and to explore participation of Albanian diplomats and civil servants in professional programmes based in Islamabad.
Practical initiatives under consideration include organising trade exhibitions, strengthening cooperation in information technology and enabling the participation of Albanian officials, parliamentarians and civil society representatives in specialised events organised by Pakistani institutions. These steps aim to broaden Albania Pakistan ties beyond diplomacy to people-to-people and economic engagement.
Tahseen Sayed also held productive meetings with members of the Albanian private sector, academic and research communities, where there was clear interest in closer engagement with Pakistani businesses, universities, think tanks and research institutes.
‘There is growing interest to expand interaction between Albania and Pakistan’, said Tahseen Sayed, Albania’s Honorary Consul. ‘The discussions held during this visit highlighted promising opportunities to further strengthen cooperation, more so, at a time, when Islamabad is one of the most happening places in Asia’.
With tourism surging, a stable economy and momentum on its EU accession path, Albania is emerging as an attractive European destination for tourism, trade and investment. Both ministers also underscored the importance of promoting peace across Europe and Asia and of strengthening inter-faith harmony and coexistence among communities and cultures.
