Safdar Abbasi, Naheed Khan Grieve Deaths of 14 Children at PIMS

Dr Safdar Abbasi and Naheed Khan demanded a transparent and impartial investigation into the PIMS Hospital tragedy.

ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan Peoples Party Workers Dr Safdar Abbasi and Political Assistant to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Naheed Khan have expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic incident at PIMS Hospital Islamabad that claimed the lives of 14 innocent children.

In a joint statement, they demanded an immediate, transparent, comprehensive and impartial investigation into the incident, saying all relevant aspects should be thoroughly examined.

They said the tragedy at PIMS Hospital was deeply heartbreaking and had left every sensitive heart in grief. The loss of innocent lives, they added, was an unbearable tragedy for the bereaved parents and their families.

Dr Safdar Abbasi and Naheed Khan said the pain and suffering of the grieving families could not be expressed in words. They prayed that Allah Almighty grant the departed children the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give their parents and families patience and strength to bear the immense loss.

They further demanded that all aspects of the incident be investigated and, if any negligence, carelessness or dereliction of duty was established, those responsible must face strict legal action without discrimination.

They said the precious lives of the 14 innocent children could not be brought back, but a thorough investigation and determination of responsibility were essential to ensure that no other family had to endure such an unbearable tragedy in the future.
