Humnava, a global music platform curated in Pakistan’s Hunza Valley, has released the first song from Season 1, Hairan Amanam, offering listeners an early glimpse of a project that blends music, culture, collaboration and place. Co-founded by Xulfi and Muhammad Ibrahim, Humnava was conceived to connect artists from around the world through the universal language of music and to position Pakistan as a living hub for creative exchange.
The Season 1 music camp in Hunza brought together more than 30 musicians and collaborators from France, Germany, Algeria, Zambia, Hunza and across Pakistan for an extended period of co-creation. Participants lived, jammed, wrote and recorded together in the valley, producing a body of work that reflects a rare meeting point of sounds, traditions and lived experience anchored in the landscape of northern Pakistan.
Hairan Amanam is a Burushaski track whose title translates to I am in awe, and it features the young duo Rizwan Abbas and Maheen Sattar in a live-recorded collaboration produced by Xulfi. The recording includes contributions from international musicians such as Bakrin Timlfati, Amine Laroug and Dorian Jonas Goetsh alongside Pakistani artists, weaving rubabs, acoustic and electric guitars, flutes and a synth-driven beat into a soundscape that dissolves boundaries and celebrates wonder and shared humanity. The song’s linguistic roots and musical texture also resonate across the wider Pamir region.
The track was written by Zulfiqar Ali Khan Bercha, composed by Xulfi, Zulfiqar Ali Khan Bercha and Fahim Uddin Hunzai, and arranged by Xulfi and Sherry Khattak, with Xulfi producing, mixing and leading the musical direction. The official video was directed by Aamir Mughal with post-production by Mehroz Raza, production design by Hashim Al and Sahra Bohra, and styling by Wajeeha Badar.
Hairan Amanam is now available to watch on television and on YouTube and to stream on platforms including Spotify. The Humnava Season 1 roster will continue to unfold with Noor-e-Nazar, Qataghani, Holoyor, Sway, Lost in Love, Koi Achi Khabar, Isketa and Darmaan, forming the first chapter of a wider artistic journey across borders and genres.
