Pakistan Iran talks: PM Shehbaz Sharif and President Pezeshkian discussed regional stability and diplomatic steps to advance lasting peace.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, in which the two leaders exchanged detailed views on the current regional situation and ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability.

The Prime Minister provided an overview of his recent diplomatic outreach to a number of world leaders, noting that these engagements have helped to build a broader consensus in support of sustained dialogue and diplomacy aimed at achieving lasting peace in the war-affected region. The Pakistan Iran discussions underscored the importance of constructive diplomacy as the pathway to durable stability.

The Prime Minister welcomed the fruitful talks conducted by the Iranian leadership with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir during his recent visit to Tehran earlier this month, and expressed appreciation for Tehran’s engagement on matters of mutual concern.

Reassuring Iran of Pakistan’s firm commitment to regional peace, the Prime Minister said Pakistan will continue its sincere and honest endeavours to promote regional peace and security. President Pezeshkian thanked the Prime Minister, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar for their significant contribution to the peace efforts, while reiterating Iran’s desire for peace and expressing confidence that fraternal ties between the two countries will strengthen and expand.

The Prime Minister conveyed his respectful greetings and regards to the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, and both sides agreed to maintain close contact to further diplomatic coordination and support initiatives that advance regional stability.
