Sindh’s Raheel Victor captured the Boys Under-15 crown at the 2nd RICHS National Junior Squash Championship after a dominant performance at the Jahangir Khan Squash Academy, PSB Karachi Centre. Raheel Victor defeated second seed Mamoon Khan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in straight games, sealing the title 11-9, 11-0 and 12-10.
The tournament produced strong showings across age groups as PAF’s top seed Anas Rafey won the Boys Under-11 final, overturning an opening-game deficit to beat Sindh’s M. Bin Naseem 3-1 with scores of 8-11, 11-6, 11-8 and 11-7. In the Girls Under-15 event, top-seeded Vaishnavi of Sindh prevailed over compatriot Aiman Fatima 11-7, 11-2 and 11-4 to lift the title.
Top seed Anas Shah added the PSA Satellite crown to the weekend’s action, overcoming Sindh’s Saeed Abdul 3-0 with 11-8, 12-10 and 11-5 in the men’s professional final. Prize funds underscored the event’s growing stature: Rs. 600,000 was distributed among winners and runners-up of the junior championship while the PSA Satellite awarded US$1,000 to the winner, runner-up and other leading performers.
Organizing Secretary Naveed Rehman said the championship concluded with exciting finals across all categories, reflecting a strong field of participants from across Pakistan and the rising competitive standard of squash in the country. The event showcased emerging talent and delivered competitive matches at every stage.
The closing ceremony was attended by PSB Karachi Centre Director Ali Raza as chief guest, who presented awards alongside Sindh Squash Association President Adnan Asad. Also present were Sindh Squash Association Secretary Naveed Rehman, KP Squash Association Secretary Mansoor Zaman, Muhammad Naseem and other officials. A group photograph at the closing captured the officials with the winners of the 2nd RICHS National Junior and PSA Satellite events.
Raheel Victor’s triumph in the Boys U-15 and the depth shown across categories underline the importance of junior events in Pakistan’s squash calendar and point to a promising generation of players ready to step up to national and professional levels.
