The Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) has clarified recent developments regarding its leadership, stating that the Senior Vice Chairman has taken charge as Acting Chairman by default under the associationโs rules.
According to the Secretary General of P@SHA, the development followed a recent meeting of the Central Executive Committee (CEC), where eight out of 12 members formally voted in favour of a vote of no confidence against the former Chairman, Mr Sajjad Mustafa Syed.
As per the minutes of the CEC meeting, eight CEC members supported the no-confidence vote, three voted against it, while one member abstained. P@SHA said the result constituted a two-thirds majority in favour of the motion.
The association extended best wishes to Mr Sajjad Mustafa Syed for his future endeavours and said he would continue to serve as a CEC member for the remainder of his term.
P@SHA said the CEC remained committed to ensuring continuity, stability and smooth daily and strategic operations across all ongoing initiatives. The Senior Vice Chairman will serve as Acting Chairman until a new Chairman is elected by the CEC in the coming days.
The association further clarified that the upcoming elections and the 22nd P@SHA ICT Awards would be held according to their respective schedules, without any delay or interruption.
P@SHA maintained that it is a strong and well-established trade body and remains committed to continuing business as usual in the larger interest of the IT industry. It also stated that its elections would be held in a timely, free, fair and transparent manner.
