RAWALPINDI: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek Shad Bad Dr Muhammad Hanif Mughal has said that development is not possible without providing the people with a prosperous life.

Speaking during a meeting with people belonging to different walks of life, including Dr Saleem Mughal, Malik Rafiq Awan, Rashid Bhatti and others, Dr Mughal said urgent steps were needed to control inflation, poverty and unemployment, reduce prices of petroleum products, and end sit-ins and protests.

He said measures for economic development and establishment of peace and law and order in the country were the need of the hour.

Dr Mughal said the “monster of inflation” was not being controlled because policies were being implemented without planning. He said the country needed educated public representatives who could provide relief to the people from inflation.

He said Pakistan Tehreek Shad Bad would continue its practical struggle and keep raising its voice for bringing forward educated and new leadership.

Dr Mughal further said his party supported powers at the councillor level. He said the local government system being proposed by his party included a key role for the elected councillor in every union council.

He said the councillor would collect taxes, which would help stop tax evasion, while development work would also be carried out at the local level through the councillor.

He claimed that the local government system proposed by his party would be the strongest.
