RAWALPINDI: Social leader and President of Taraqqi Pasand Falahai Tanzeem Muhammad Aamir Siddiqui has said that September 6 is a day to renew the pledge to protect Pakistan’s freedom and national integrity.
In a statement in connection with Defence and Martyrs Day, he said freedom was a great blessing and its true value could be understood by nations that had lived under subjugation. He said defending the motherland was the hallmark of honourable nations.
Muhammad Aamir Siddiqui said September 6, 1965, was a story of great sacrifices and a guiding light for future generations. He said the enemy had attacked under the cover of darkness, but the brave and valiant armed forces of Pakistan foiled its designs while fulfilling their responsibility of defending every inch of the country.
He said the brave sons of the nation rendered the ultimate sacrifices for the beloved homeland, adding that the sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces were unforgettable and the entire nation took pride in them.
Aamir Siddiqui said the armed forces defeated the nefarious designs of the enemy on September 6 and that Pakistan today was far stronger and more stable than it was in 1965. He said Allah Almighty had blessed the country with nuclear and missile technology as well as strong capabilities.
He said the nation and the armed forces, together, broke the back of terrorists and extremists in Swat, Waziristan, Zarb-e-Azb, Radd-ul-Fasaad, Fitna-al-Hindustan and other operations and fronts. He said the country needed unity against the unrest in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to defeat anti-state elements and terrorists.
The social leader said the armed forces had always stood with the nation in difficult times and played a full role in reducing public sufferings during floods and other calamities. He said the forces were now more trained and alert than ever before.
Referring to the recent Indian aggression, he said the befitting response of the armed forces in Operation Bunyan Marsoos had shattered Indian arrogance and inflicted a crushing defeat.
He said the nation stood shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces. Those who sacrificed for the homeland were national heroes, he added, while paying tribute to the martyrs and ghazis of the country.
Aamir Siddiqui prayed for the protection of Pakistan and said the people must promote brotherhood, harmony and tolerance while remaining united under the banner of “Pakistan First”. He also prayed for an end to the sufferings of the people, economic stability, and for the country to move forward on the path of progress and prosperity.
