In recent months, ChatGPT has become a widely known tool, and Microsoft is planning to update it with a new feature that could place it at the center of attention once again. Next week, Microsoft is set to launch GPT-4, which may enable users to generate AI-powered videos from basic text prompts.

At the “AI in Focus — Digital Kickoff” event, Andreas Braun, Chief Technology Officer at Microsoft Germany, revealed that the company will introduce GPT-4 next week, which will provide “multimodal models that will offer entirely different possibilities—for example, videos.”

While ChatGPT can only respond with text at the moment, GPT-4, which is the underlying technology that powers ChatGPT, will transform this. This imminent update will provide new features that are expected to take the AI tool to a new level.

During the event, Microsoft also clarified that GPT-4 will be “multimodal.” Holger Kenn, Director of Business Strategy at Microsoft Germany, stated that this functionality would enable Microsoft’s AI to convert text to images, music, and video.

GPT-4’s capabilities were demonstrated in an example provided by Microsoft, where a call center could use the tool to convert phone conversations between employees and customers into text, eliminating the need to summarize them manually after they have ended. This would significantly reduce the time and effort spent on this task.

Despite the interest and waiting lists, Microsoft has not commented on the integration of ChatGPT into the Bing web browser. Given the recent controversy surrounding the topic, it is possible that the company decided not to touch on this subject.

With GPT-4 launching soon, we are eager to see the extent of the new features in the next version of ChatGPT and whether Microsoft can fix any issues that have persisted with its AI assistant. The update could bring significant advances to the AI and video creation space.
